   The Strike Gundam is one of the five Gundams secretly developed by the Earth Alliance Forces, and the only Gundam that was not captured by ZAFT. It has three different armor formations, giving it an advantage in various battle situations. The PS (Phase Shift) Armor protects it from almost all beam attacks, but it consumes a great deal of energy. When a Phase Shift Down occurs, the armor ceases to move and all functions stop. Kira Yamato boarded it by chance, and he has continued to be the pilot. He immediately rewrote the OS to make it more efficient and easier to use in battle. After that, only coordinators could use it.
