Les personnages sont différents d’une série à l’autre, mais le contexte historique reste le même ; ces séries se déroulant dans le même univers, selon une chronologie très précise.

    Les séries se déroulant dans des univers alternatifs : Mobile Suit Gundam Wing, Mobile Suit Gundam Wing Endless Waltz, Mobile Fighter G Gundam, Mobile Suit Gundam X, G-Saviour, Turn A Gundam, Mobile Suit Gundam Seed et Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny. Ces séries n’ont absolument aucune connexion avec l’autre saga et n’ont également aucune connexion entre elles. Elles peuvent être regardées indépendamment et individuellement, sans que le téléspectateur soit perdu, à l’exception des séries Mobile Suit Gundam Wing Endless Waltz et Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny qui sont des suites.
